Essential duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development Support:

  • Drive the establishment of compliant business processes within the Netherlands
  • Liaise with Sales Operations group for implanting and maintaining Sales trackers; Special commission schemes and contests 
  • Perform profitability analysis on key accounts/customer groups/tenders/deals for all divisions in NL 
  • Critically appraise investment proposals and support their development 
  • Partner with Local Marketing on matters including product launches, key programs and market share analysis on key franchises

Ongoing Business Partnership to the Country Management Team 

  • Be a true business partner to the Netherlands region by demonstrating knowledge of the marketplace, market trends, competitors, customer dynamics and products, by constantly reviewing and challenging the performance of the region and by making recommendations to the regional management team 
  • Constantly appraise business performance and check that existing plans are well geared towards driving strong profitable growth 
  • Monitor the development of the region’s cost structure, challenge and recommend changes to country plans where appropriate 
  • Provide direction and leadership in properly following the sponsorship policies, collecting the necessary contracts and documentation to execute business agreements with our customers. 
  • Ensure appropriate return on capital equipment; ensure an efficient and effective consignment strategy is followed and provoke change where appropriate 
  • Actively participate at Country management and occasionally Regional Finance meetings and represent the Netherlands there. 
  • Provide ad-hoc reports for Health Economics, Marketing, Finance, HR, CS and any regional specifics

Planning, Reporting & Analysis:

  • Lead the quarterly commitment process and annual plan for the Netherlands in liaison with the Regional Controller, Regional VP, Country Management Team, Regional Marketing and HR and International Finance teams 
  • Provide appropriate schedules and supporting explanations to Central FP&A. 
  • Highlight the relevant risks and opportunities 
  • Report monthly results, track key indicators through a balanced scorecard; comment and appraise performance; recommend and drive corrective action plans

Statutory responsibilities: 

  • Ensure compliance with fiscal regulations and BSC internal controls and policies. 
  • Work in close cooperation with the European Shared Service Center on all statutory topics 
  • Be the champion of all Sponsorships, Customer Contracts and all other legal documentation involved in business matters. 
  • Monitor contracts with third parties and safe guard economical efficiency (car lease, travel agency,…) 
  • Supervise and support the internal/external audits and 404 activities and all other Quality initiatives

DIMENSIONS 

Supports the speed of sales growth by establishing compliant business processes in the Netherlands based on local regulations, BS policies and best practices; actively supports and represents the Netherlands at country,  regional and, possibly, International Finance& Mgmt Meetings Operative budget

ORGANIZATION

Reports Into (Direct & Functional) to Regional Controller 

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal External
Direct liaison with other finance team members, ESSC and Intl finance team;
Regular discussion with the Regional Controller and country functional heads (Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, HR) and the International Finance Organization Establish and maintain good relationships with local revenue and external audit authorities as well as networking to be up to date on latest legal requirements

Essential requirements

- Masters’ degree in Business/Finance or equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an international financial environment (medical devices industry is an advantage)
- Good business understanding and judgment in a multinational and multicultural environment
- Confidence to challenge the status quo and represent new ideas
- Ability to take initiative & lead change
- Ability to prioritize and manage demanding deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills and PC skills
- High level of Integrity
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player, proactive, detail oriented, hands on approach
- Languages: fluent in Dutch and English
