Understanding of the position

Objective:

To build business and manage distributors and representatives in France and Belgium. This position will complete a team of 4 who each manage a number of territories.

The Role:

The suitable candidate will have a strong background working through a representative or distributor network. He / She will have a formal qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) and will be an experienced sales manager.

Key Activities:

  • Increase sales and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales plan
  • Analysis of each territory’s sales performance against plan
  • Motivate and train distributors and representatives on products and selling techniques 
  • Focus distributors and representatives on the markets or products that the company want sold
  • Ensure distributors and representatives understand the sales goals and market penetration needed by the company
  • Manage all representative and agent commercial issues including contract renewal and review and payment terms
  • Management and review of supply agreements
  • Develop sales in new industries
  • Develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies in the territories
  • Make joint sales visits
  • Travel will be approx 50% of work time

Position requirements

  • A third level qualification in Chemical/Mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years technical sales experience 
  • Previous experience with a manufacturer working through a rep/ distributor network 
  • Knowledge of engineered products
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills 
  • Self disciplined and organized. Self motivation to organise travel plans in advance is essential
  • High energy and initiative to find mutually beneficial solutions for both customer and employer
  • Fluent French and English (fluency in other European languages would be an advantage)

Comprehensive training will take place at the European manufacturing facility in Limerick, Ireland.
